Hi, I’m Jessica Liang, the owner and lead instructor of Finer Points Forensics. I am an IAI certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst, forensic specialist, and educator dedicated to training the next generation of forensic professionals.

 

I started my career in 2011 with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department first as a 9-1-1 dispatcher before promoting to forensic specialist. After 14 years of service with LASD, I transitioned to a local police department to conduct crime scene investigation, laboratory processing, and latent print examination. Over the past 12 years in the forensic discipline, I’ve conducted more than 1,000 crime scene investigations ranging from burglaries to death investigations and officer-involved shootings. I specialize in crime scene photography, crime scene investigation, laboratory processing, latent print examination and verification, and AFIS analysis. I served as a photography instructor and CSI field training officer.

 

I hold a B.A. in Anthropology from University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Forensic Science from National University.

 

Through this platform, my mission is to provide meaningful, experience-based training and bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world forensic practice. I am committed to passing down the knowledge I’ve gained so that the next generation of forensic professionals are prepared to serve their communities with competence, integrity, and confidence.
